Yup, playing FF11! (as a readhead Elvaan Red mage Roksik in San d'Oria). Someone out there wanted more readhead elves? Get one more!
The game does feel more "western" than the rest of FF titles: somewhat pale colors, regular orcs and goblins, normal armor... because of that the pieces of "usual" FF fashion made me feel rather... disturbed. Any Mythra coming my way looked underdressed, and I myself had to choose Subligars over pants (better stats) up until level 20.
Things got truly demented there: I hit lvl 20, finally equipped some normal pants, threw away my old Subligars, happy, turned a corner... got killed by mobs. The ffxifree.com server has a x10 exp penalty for death; I got a severe level down, but refused to buy more Subligars to wear while catching up. I decided to do some quests while in the city... and yep, I actually stood there before prince Pieuje and papsque Shamonde wearing this armor and no pants at all... Oh, the shame! I really wanted to take Dancer as my subjob, by the quests is bugged (half of them are - IMO, a just penalty for wanting to play for free).
I should have picked a Galka dancer for a stronger effect, but alas I realized it too late. The Mythra in the center is more or less random - the face is from my second character I abandoned upon creation, but the guy on the left... lol I remember doing a mission for San d'Oria with my galka. In one cutscene I had to pay my respects to the King. I felt entirely underdressed in my getup that resembled bondage gear. XD
